Two days after going seven scoreless innings against the Orioles, left-hander CC Sabathia was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Friday with a left groin strain.

The Yankees selected lefty reliever Phil Coke from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and signed him to a Major League contract.
