CC has arthroscopic surgery on right knee

The New York Yankees announced Tuesday that left-handed pitcher CC Sabathia underwent arthroscopic surgery for a routine cleanup in his right knee.

Yankees head team physician Dr. Christopher Ahmad performed the surgery at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. The 36-year-old is expected to be ready for the start of Spring Training in 2017.

Sabathia went 9-12 with a 3.91 ERA in 30 starts for the Yankees in 2016.
