After taking a tough loss in game one at the hands of the Boston Red Sox, the New York Yankees were able to take the middle game on Wednesday night thanks to an extraordinary effort by CC Sabathia and four RBIs by Chris Carter.
Sabathia held the Red Sox to zero runs over eight innings of work en route to his seventh victory of 2017. The 17-year veteran, who posted eight shutout innings for the first time since Sept. 21, 2012, struck out five and walked none to lower his season ERA to 3.
