Carlos Beltran showing signs with long overdue homer

Carlos Beltran took his time straightening his pink tie and putting on a fine light blue sports jacket before addressing the media.

“When you don’t play well, you have to dress well,” Beltran joked.

Fortunately for Beltran, his play on the field Sunday looked as good as his suit. The Yankees right fielder went 2-for-2 with a home run, a single off the right field wall and a pair of walks before being lifted for a pinch- runner in the seventh inning.

He clawed his way into a full count against Orioles starter Bud Norris before crushing a 3-2 slider and launching the ball into the right-field seats.
