Before the third inning Saturday, you probably could have gotten better odds in Vegas of spotting Big Foot than of Chase Headley getting a hit and Austin Romine an RBI double, both off David Price in a three-batter span.
But it was the kind of day to dream for the Yankees. Their two best players, Dellin Betances and Andrew Miller, were unavailable due to a recent heavy workload. So to create the kind of big lead that would make their absence irrelevant, the Yankees would need the kind of synchronized performance of timely hitting and a strong start that has evaded them.
