The New York Yankees announced that Bryan Mitchell will start Monday’s series opener against the Minnesota Twins.
The #Yankees have announced that Bryan Mitchell will start tomorrow at #Twins.
Mitchell was called up prior to Sunday’s doubleheader against the Boston Red Sox, and was scheduled to start the first game. After Saturday’s 16-inning contest, the club elected to start CC Sabathia instead, keeping Mitchell available in the bullpen as a long reliever.
The 26-year-old has pitched as a starter for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season.
