The National Baseball Hall of Fame’s 2019 class will be announced on Jan. 22 and will be inducted in late July. The name of prominence for Yankees fans is Mariano Rivera, who some believe has a shot to be the first unanimous entrant. Even with the notion that voters’ ballots will become public, others still see one or two people holding out.
Other notable newcomers include Roy Halladay, Todd Helton, and another Yankee in Andy Pettitte. Returnee Edgar Martinez just missed the mark last year, receiving 70.4 percent of the required 75 percent to get in.
