NEW YORK -- Former Yankees catcher Brian McCann burned his ex-team on Friday night.
After being traded to the Houston Astros during the offseason, McCann delivered the key hit when he launched a three-run home run into the second deck in right field at Yankee Stadium to break a scoreless tie in the fourth inning. The Yankees' offense responded far too late in a 5-1 loss.
The lone run came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when shortstop Didi Gregorius drove in first baseman Matt Holliday with a two-out, RBI single.
