Brian McCann began his career with the Atlanta Braves, and ended it with them.
The catcher said he is retiring from baseball after the Braves’ suffered a 13-1 season-ending loss to the Cardinals in Game 5 of the ALDS on Wednesday night in Atlanta.
McCann, a Georgia native, began his career with nine seasons with Atlanta and was named an All-Star seven times before moving to the Yankees in 2014. Though McCann couldn’t help lead the Yankees to a title in his three seasons in The Bronx, he was able to capture a World Series in 2017 after he was traded to the Astros.
