The woman accused of stalking Yankees general manager Brian Cashman “blatantly” lied to authorities about her living situation to score a luxury one-bedroom in TriBeCa, prosecutors argued at the close of her fraud trial Thursday.
Assistant District Attorney Daniel Garnaas-Holmes told jurors in his summation that the defense presented side-issues including Louise Meanwell’s custody battle against her ex-husband, but none of the other things were relevant.
“If you look at her actions instead of these peripheral issues and people, there’s only one conclusion -— she lied to get something she didn’t deserve,” Garnaas-Holmes argued.
