NEW YORK -- With speculation heating up over if the Yankees will promote their top prospect any day now, general manager Brian Cashman offered a straightforward view of his big-league club.
"The guys we got have got to play better," Cashman said after the Yankees fell to 8-8 after an ugly 9-1 loss to the Marlins at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday night.
Cashman had just been asked if Gleyber Torres -- the club's consensus best minor leaguer and the sixth best in the game, according to Baseball America -- was on his way up to the majors soon.
