Brendan Ryan will be back with the Yankees in 2016, while Andrew Bailey will not.
Ryan exercised his 2016 player option for next season, the team said Tuesday. The Yankees also announced that they declined Bailey's team option for next season.
Ryan, a slick-fielding infielder who will be entering his 10th season next year, played in 47 games in 2015 and hit .229 with a .275 on-base percentage and eight RBIs. He has a .201 average with a .244 on-base percentage, one home run and 17 RBIs in two and a half seasons with the Yankees.
Bailey made his first major-league appearance since 2013 on Sept.
