TORONTO— One by one, Yankees manager Aaron Boone summoned players to his office Sunday morning to pass along great news.
Four Yankees were selected to the 2018 All-Star Game, which is scheduled for July 17 at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., and a fifth could get in on the Final Vote.
And while at least one and maybe two of the Yankees probably won’t participate due to injuries, others could end up going as replacements for teammates or other American League players who are unable to play.
“It’s nice to see our team well represented and there’s certainly a couple guys who had a pretty good case as well,” Boone said Sunday after the Yankees’ 2-1, 10-inning win over the Toronto Blue Jays.
