TAMPA — One of the biggest takeaways Brandon Drury noticed during his first work day as the Yankees’ new third baseman was how friendly Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton and the rest of his new teammates were to him.
“Everybody was super welcoming,” Drury said. “I feel like I’m home now after one day. To have that feeling is great.”
Drury, 25, was dealt by the Arizona Diamondbacks to the Yankees on Tuesday night in a three-team trade that also involved the Tampa Bay Rays. He traveled from Arizona to Florida on Wednesday and joined his new club for Thursday's spring training practice.
