WASHINGTON -- The Yankees will make an unexpected return visit to the nation's capital in June, as both games of their Interleague series against the Nationals have been postponed and rescheduled, to be made up on June 18.
The Nationals announced that the contests will resume at 5:05 p.m. ET on that date. New York and Washington will pick up Tuesday's suspended game in the bottom of the sixth inning, tied 3-3.
The clubs had been scheduled to play a 7:05 p.m. ET contest Wednesday; that game has also been postponed due to inclement weather.
For the Yankees, the makeup date erases an off-day in what would have been a nine-game homestand.
