Boston Red Sox slugger J.D. Martinez remains a question mark for the team's AL wild card matchup against the New York Yankees on Tuesday night at Fenway Park as he continues to recover from a sprained left ankle.
Martinez suffered the injury when he tripped over the second base bag while jogging out to right field in Boston's regular-season finale Sunday against the host Washington Nationals. He was pulled from the game an inning later.
Speaking Monday at Fenway, Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Martinez continues to get treatment on the ankle and that the team will make a roster decision Tuesday morning.
