The Yankees started this series with a chance to gain ground in the AL East standings. Instead, they have played like garbage and watched the division slip further and further away. For the second straight day, the offense looked lost at the plate. They managed just one hit off of Rick Porcello last night, and were completely shut down by Nathan Eovaldi today. This loss puts them 8.5 games back in the standings.
Overall, it wasn’t a bad debut for Chance Adams. He missed some of his spots early on, and the Red Sox did jump on the mistakes.
