NEW YORK -- The keys to the manager's office are officially in Aaron Boone's hands as the Yankees introduced the 2003 American League Championship Series hero as the 33rd manager in franchise history on Wednesday.
"I just want to first start out by thanking the Steinbrenner family for entrusting me in this position. It really does mean the world to me, and it feels like the chance of a lifetime for me," said Boone, who received a three-year contract with a team option for the 2021 season.
"And to [general manager] Brian Cashman, [team president] Randy Levine, the one thing I promise you guys is you'll get all I got, and I'm so excited to be here.
