That didn't take long.
The new interference rule around the second base bag—the Chase Utley rule—reared its head within the first few days of the 2016 season. Let the controversy begin after Tuesday night's Blue Jays-Rays game ended on Jose Bautista being called out for interference at second base for making contact with Rays infield Logan Forsythe.
Here's the replay. Keep an eye on Bautista making contact with Forsythe's leg/ankle area at the end of the play.
It was subtle, but contact was made. According to the rule, the umpires got the call right and Bautista should be out.
