BALTIMORE -- The Yankees have seen intermittent glimpses of Greg Bird's potential this season, with perhaps no swing more convincing than a sweet stroke that delivered a three-run homer off Andrew Cashner in the fifth inning of Tuesday's contest at Camden Yards.
Bird jumped on a 2-2 fastball from the right-hander and sent it rocketing a projected 392 feet, according to Statcast™, toward Eutaw Street, giving the Yankees a 3-2 lead at the time. The one-out blast came with Didi Gregorius and Miguel Andujar aboard and was Bird's sixth home run of the season.
