Bill Murray took a champagne shower Tuesday night in honor of a different kind of award.
Murray made an appearance in the locker room of the Yankees’ Single-A Charleston affiliate after the Riverdogs clinched the first-half division title with a 3-0 win over Augusta GreenJackets, earning a playoff spot after an 11-year drought. Manager Luis Dorante doused the award-winning actor in champagne as his players cheered him on enthusiastically.
Dorante highlighted the importance of having Murray, the Riverdogs’ minority owner, celebrate the momentous occasion with his team.
“It was awesome,” Dorante said, according to the team’s website.
