Baseball Hall of Fame: After 194 counted ballots, voting shows ...

UPDATE: Why wait until the Baseball Hall of Fame announces its Class of 2016 at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 6? Thanks to Ryan Thibodaux, a 34-year-old A's fan from Oakland, Calif., we already have a good idea of how everything will shake out. Thibodaux has been tracking ballots announced early (such as mine) for three years, and through 2 p.m. on Jan. 6 had results from 194 of an estimated 475 distributed ballots. Players need to be on 75 percent of the ballots to get in. There are a lot of interesting trends, including a possible first-ever unanimous election as well as much better showings for a bunch of returning candidates.
