It was just about always a lock that Mariano Rivera would get the save when the Yankees called on him.
There's one more lock ahead for Rivera: A first-ballot Hall of Fame selection.
Rivera will undoubtedly be selected into Cooperstown in 2019, his first time eligible for enshrinement five seasons removed from his retirement.
Rivera ended his career with the most saves of all time (652), the most games finished (952) and the best ERA+ of all-time (205).
He won five World Titles with the Yankees as a member of its famed Core Four, alongside Derek Jeter, Jorge Posada and Andy Pettitte, who joins Rivera as another first-timer on the Hall of Fame ballot.
