NEW YORK -- Michael Pineda struck out eight over six electric innings and Mark Teixeira homered in his return to the lineup, helping the Yankees to their fourth consecutive victory on Wednesday, a 5-0 decision over the Orioles at Yankee Stadium. Baltimore has lost four straight games.
Pineda blanked Baltimore in a 113-pitch effort, limiting their depleted batting order to five hits and two walks as he picked up his first victory since June 7. Teixeira provided support against O's starter Yovani Gallardo, slugging his eighth homer in the fourth inning and working a bases-loaded walk in the sixth.
