Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders: W 2-0 (11 innings) vs. Syracuse Chiefs
Neither the Chiefs nor the RailRiders could get much going at the plate last night, forcing the game to go to extra innings tied 0-0. The RailRiders threatened in the second inning after Gary Sanchez doubled and Nick Swisher singled in his first at-bat since signing a minor-league deal. Unfortunately, Cesar Puello grounded into a force out and Pete Kozma flew out to end the inning. The winning runs ultimately didn't come until the eleventh inning.
