Astros' Gomez at center of drama again in rout of Yankees

Carlos Gomez is one of baseball’s more flamboyant players. Because of that, in-game drama tends to find him.

On Tuesday night in Houston’s 15-1 win over the Yankees at the Stadium – a game largely bereft of anything compelling – Gomez brought some on.

With the Astros up 9-0 in the sixth, Gomez came to bat against Yanks reliever Chris Capuano and flew out to center. Angry with himself, he threw down his bat. And before you knew it the benches and bullpens had cleared.

As Gomez ran down to first base, one or more of the Yankees hollered something at him from the dugout.
