A’s fan helps ruin game and save the Yankees

Bart-woman to the rescue.

A fan — wearing A’s gear — in Oakland pulled a Steve Bartman on Tuesday night, reaching her glove over a wall in foul territory in right field and preventing A’s outfielder Stephen Piscotty from catching the fly ball.

And that opened the floodgates.

Piscotty thought he had Andrelton Simmons’ fly ball lined up in the sixth inning until the glove got in the way. Simmons hit a two-run single moments later, Kaleb Cowart launched a go-ahead grand slam and the Los Angeles Angels scored six times in the sixth to rally past the A’s, 9-7, in Oakland.
