ESPN | Marly Rivera: Manager Aaron Boone sat Gary Sánchez yesterday, and may give him another day on the bench to try to stem the catcher’s struggles. Sánchez has been mired in a season-long slump, hitting just .130 on the year with seven home runs. Boone stressed that Sánchez has been “working his tail off” and that this absolutely not an indictment of Sánchez’s work ethic. Hopefully, a little bit of time off can help Sánchez get back on the right track.
