Around the Empire: Yankees news - 5/20/19

MLB.com | Sarah Langs: It’s time for your daily injury update. During Saturday’s game, Masahiro Tanaka deflected a ball with his right shin. The Yankees are hoping that he will be able to make his next start, but he is experiencing soreness. More pitching news: Dellin Betances threw from 90 feet yesterday. He reportedly hasn’t felt any pain in his shoulder recently. Finally, James Paxton threw a bullpen session on Sunday. The southpaw did feel his knee a bit still, but thought it went pretty well despite that. Obviously the Yankees want him to get to a place where he isn’t feeling any pain before he returns.
