NY Daily News | Kristie Ackert: The Yankees are doing very well, as they are currently 23-16 and just 1.5 games back of the Rays in the division race. How they are doing it is a bit surprising, as the Yankees are only ninth in the league in homers with 56, relying instead on clutch hitting and strong pitching to best other teams. Maybe the “too many homers” crowd had a point after all. I will point out, though, that even this year, the Yankees are 20-10 when they do homer and 3-6 when they don’t.
