He also had time to watch the Yankees a lot, and Tulo knew that heading into free agency the Yankees were the place he wanted to be, and for the whole year. The no-trade clause he got for his one-year deal may seem odd, but the trade that took him from Colorado to Toronto took him by surprise, and he doesn’t want to be in that situation again.
