NY Daily News | Kristie Ackert: The Yankees extended a qualifying offer to DJ LeMahieu, but that was it. LeMahieu now has five days to accept the $18.9 million offer, which he likely won’t, or elect for free agency. In the likely event that LeMahieu rejects the offer, he would join teammates Masahiro Tanaka and James Paxton as free agents, who did not receive qualifying offers from the Yanks.
ESPN: In a move that surprised nobody, Giancarlo Stanton did not opt out of his mega contract, and will keep his remaining seven guaranteed years and $218 million that is left on the record-breaking deal he signed with the Marlins.
