Angels Snap Yankees’ 6-Game Winning Streak in Extra Innings

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Whenever Joe Girardi sees Eric Young Jr., the Yankees manager can’t help but think back to his playing days with the Colorado Rockies, when little Eric raced around the clubhouse while his father played. Girardi admits that the sight of the younger Young makes him feel old.

Late Tuesday night, he made Girardi feel even older — belting a game-tying homer in the eighth inning and then delivering the game-winning infield single as the Los Angeles Angels beat the Yankees, 3-2, in 11 innings.

The loss snapped the Yankees’ six-game winning streak, but it was not the most troubling news of a long night.
