Andrew Miller’s blunt take on NYC smokeless tobacco ban

TAMPA — Andrew Miller doesn’t believe New York City’s attempt to ban smokeless tobacco from Yankee Stadium and Citi Field will be met with demonstrations.

Nevertheless, the Yankees’ lefty reliever has an issue with the City Council passing legislation that awaits Mayor Bill de Blasio’s signature, which would take effect immediately.

The legislation passed Tuesday by a vote of 44-3. It was sponsored by Council member Corey Johnson, chair of the council’s committee on health.

“I don’t foresee anybody protesting or picketing but from a philosophical standpoint I don’t agree with it,’’ said Miller, a former dipper.
