Andrew Miller: Why broken bone didn’t cause shaky 9th

Talking about the chip fracture in his non-throwing right hand seems to give Andrew Miller more discomfort than the broken bone itself.

In his first outing of the season and second appearance since suffering the injury on a come-backer during an exhibition game March 30, Miller showed no ill effects of the fracture of the pisiform bone at the base of his glove hand. He worked around a pair of singles to notch his first save in the Yankees’ 8-5 series-clinching win over the Astros on Thursday.

“I was fine,” said Miller, who pitched without any padding on the wrist and struck out the side.
