On the day the Yankees activated Aaron Judge, slumping Andrew McCutchen — whose playing time now could be in jeopardy — responded with his best game in pinstripes.
McCutchen was the sparkplug in the Yankees’ 11-0 rout of the Blue Jays before 40,138 at the Stadium. He went 3-for-3 with two runs, two walks and a fifth-inning solo homer in the homestand-opening laugher. McCutchen, who has struggled to hit since arriving in The Bronx, is starting to come around at the perfect time.
“He’s really starting to swing the bat better over the last week,” Aaron Boone said.
