Alex Bregman praises CC Sabathia

CC Sabathia is probably the most respected Yankee inside the clubhouse among his teammates, and he’s also perhaps one of the most respected players around the league.

The 18-year veteran grabbed headlines on Thursday when he drilled Rays catcher, Jesus Sucre, in retaliation after Andrew Kittredge threw up and in to Austin Romine. Sabathia was ejected in the fifth inning, and ultimately cost himself a $500,000 innings pitched incentive bonus.

On Friday, Astros third baseman, Alex Bregman, praised Sabathia for having his teammate’s back, no matter the situation:

Thursday could have been Sabathia’s final start with the Yankees, since a victory in the AL Wild Card game is far from guaranteed.
