When Joe Girardi was let go as Yankees manager in November and media types were guessing who would get the job, one of the names that came up a lot was Al Pedrique.

It made sense.

Yankees GM Brian Cashman went looking for someone who would communicate with players better than Girardi, and that was a strength of Pedrique, who built good relationships with most of the organization's Baby Bombers managing many of them at multiple levels ... the likes of Aaron Judge, Gary Sanchez, Luis Severino, etc.
