As a kid from Brooklyn, Adam Ottavino made many trips to Yankee Stadium for Opening Day.
The one he remembers best was the 1997 Yankees’ home opener and includes a future teammate with the Rockies.
“Me and a friend were sitting near the third-base line and the Yankees were playing the A’s and Jason Giambi was in left field and we were heckling him,’’ Ottavino recalled Wednesday before the Yankees worked out ahead of Thursday’s Opening Day game against the Orioles at Yankee Stadium.
