Aaron Judge played nothing but Aretha Franklin in the clubhouse prior to Thursday’s game against the Rays in The Bronx.
“I saw [Thursday] morning that she passed away,” Judge said. “So I was listening to her on the ride in and thought I’d put it on in here a little bit.”
Judge credited his mother for making him a fan of Franklin.
“My mom listened to this, so I always heard it in the house,” Judge said. “Good music. Perfect for a day game.”
Tommy Kahnle was back with the Yankees on Thursday after Luis Cessa was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
