Aaron Judge was held out of the Yankees’ lineup for Thursday’s game against the Angels after he landed hard on his right shoulder when he attempted to make a diving catch on Wednesday, but manager Aaron Boone was optimistic he was OK.
“I think he’s fine from that [play], but it was something [Wednesday] night,” Boone said. “Before he left, I let him know he’d be down [Thursday]. I just felt like it was a good idea.”
Judge finished Wednesday’s game after the fifth-inning play. After homering in the third inning, Judge grounded out in his final two at-bats.
