Aaron Judge made his long-awaited return Friday night and Yankee Stadium got loud to welcome him back.
The right fielder’s typically loud bat just didn’t rise to the occasion.
In his first action since April 20, and after missing 53 games with a strained left oblique, Judge went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in the Yankees’ 4-1 win over the Astros.
“I felt like it was April 21,” Judge said. “Great to be back. Not the results you want, but it’s the first day back. Only way is up from there, I guess.”
Judge didn’t have to wait long for a standing ovation as he batted leadoff for the first time in his career.
