Aaron Judge ends HR drought in style with record-tying blast

BOSTON — The Yankees homered four times in Friday’s 11-6 win over the Red Sox — none bigger than Aaron Judge’s blast in the top of the eighth.

And it wasn’t because the home run was the Yankees’ 264th of the season, tying the 1997 Mariners for the most in MLB history.

More important was that it was Judge’s first since his return from a chip fracture in his right wrist that he suffered on a hit-by-pitch in late July.

In 11 games entering Friday’s victory, which clinched home-field advantage for Wednesday’s wild-card game against the Athletics, Judge had gone 7-for-34 with just two extra-base hits — both doubles — and a meager .
