The Yankees have decided to give a long-term contract to an outfielder, but it is one who is already in pinstripes.
The Yankees will announce a seven-year, $70 million contract for Aaron Hicks on Monday, The Post’s George A. King III confirmed.
Hicks, 29, has become a valuable weapon in the Yankees outfield since being acquired by the Twins after the 2015 season. Hicks’ new contract will start this season. He was initially scheduled to make $6 million.
Hicks batted .248 last season with 27 home runs, 90 runs scored and 79 RBIs.
