The Yankees are feeling good about their discussions with star free agent Gerrit Cole.
Manager Aaron Boone told YES Network on Monday night that the organization was pleased with how meetings went with both Cole and the since-signed Stephen Strasburg, both of which happened last week in California. The Nationals gave Strasburg a record-breaking seven-year, $245 million deal to stay with the club on Monday. The numbers for Cole are expected to be significantly higher.
“Really good,” Boone said of the meetings at the first day of the winter meetings in San Diego.
