Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez came through a minor league rehabilitation game on Monday night without a problem and will be activated from the IL for Wednesday night’s game. Sanchez has been on the IL since April 12 with a strained left calf.
Aaron Boone said he won’t run Sanchez into the ground but there will be no restrictions on the catcher.
“He will be in there [Wednesday]. He will be a full go player and catcher,’’ Boone said before the Yankees’ 7-5 win over the Angels on Tuesday night.
Asked if the Yankees would carry three catchers, or send Kyle Higashioka back to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Boone was noncommittal.
