The hope for Ivan Nova, as he comes back from Tommy John surgery, is he’s the same pitcher he was before the procedure.
Three starts into his return, that seems to be the case.
After a pair of very solid performances, Nova had his first clunker in an 8-1 loss to the Rays on Sunday in The Bronx.
Of course, even before he tore the UCL in his right elbow, Nova was susceptible to these types of outings.
“Obviously, it was not a good game,” Nova said after giving up four runs in five innings.
