The Yankees have reverted to being a team hitting home runs in droves this season, a notion Joe Girardi pointed out as an "important" distinction on Thursday afternoon.
But the ability to "strike quick and score runs in bunches," as Girardi put it, didn't materialize later that night against the Indians. They sent the first-place Yanks to a mostly sleepy 3-2 loss -- including a failed ninth-inning rally -- at the Stadium.
Girardi also earned his third ejection of the season for demonstrably arguing with home-plate umpire Dan Iassogna on a called third strike against Brian McCann in the ninth.
