Gov. Chris Christie sat in for co-host Boomer Esiason on WFAN's "Boomer and Carton" on Thursday morning, and when New York Yankee Mark Teixeira phoned in, much of their talk centered on the injured first baseman's plans to rehab his injured knee.
Teixeria had been playing with torn cartilage in his right knee, but after it locked during last Friday's game against the Baltimore Orioles, he was put on the disabled list.
This gave Christie's political advisers an idea, which they sent him via text message while still on-air: The Yankees often send players to rehab at their Double-A affiliate, the Trenton Thunder.
