NEW YORK — Yankees rookie manager Aaron Boone was feeling that same postseason anxiety that he experienced as a player prior to Wednesday night’s American League Wild Card Game at Yankee Stadium.
He was nervous but excited.
“It comes with a lot of emotions as far as just driving in,” Boone said before the Yankees took on the Oakland Athletics in a do-or-die game. “I got a pretty good night sleep after the Cubs and Rockies’ (NL Wild Card Game) finally ended (Tuesday night after 13 innings). What a great game. So I watched all of that laying in bed.
